Versace Color Report

It’s nice to ‘ve a chance for me to explore more about Versace, because I ‘m absolutely not a fans of her. The degree of femininity like the extreme slim cut, deep V, showing most of the body, the sexuality, the sumptuous feeling, also the materials Donatella chosen to use very often like chiffon, silk, silk satin etc and the exaggerate brilliant uses of colors, patterns and prints is not really my cup of tea. However, When I firstly heard of this project, I ‘ve decided to choose Versace for sure.I would want to challenge myself weather I can learn from her. Thus, to gain more idea about colors’ mix and match in different ways.

After reading Versace ‘s collection from 2003-2009 I discovered that there ‘s a must color in her overall collection: Yellow. I guess the reason for her to use yellow maybe that’s her favourite color neither she want to make noise and bright the whole series nor she want to outstanding the silloute from the collection.

Also, the colors she used were usually very sharp, eye catching, bitchy, easy to remember even have the feeling of her, the signature, she love to play with prints, stripes that colorful, complicated, but still the composition and the scale of the colors wont be over or too much, always keep the balance and that’s really nice.

To learn more, I aslo found that she loves to play with complementary colors like 2003, all colors are bright, attracting and balancing each others, the fabulous matching of violet, grass green, pink and turquoise / aquamanne. In 2005, that were deep blue vs orange, pale violet and light yellow, so extreme but look great, in 2006 was also the orange vs sea blue, that’s really nice to see that beautiful matches.In 2007, colors were around achromatic color: black and white and monochromatic brown family, low value color: beige, pale pink, pale violet, olive, that ‘ve a nice crash with high chroma yellow, the effect of the colors lead a very important role.In 2008, again, blue and orange.

Thus, she got her own style in applying colors for each season, there must be a few outfits that not quite match with the whole but stunning. Like 2005, normally the others are in low value analogic colors such as white, beige, brown, light blue, butter, pale pink, pale violet, all of a sudden, small proportion of orange and shocking pink is added to add the finishing touch.

In my collection, according to the forecasting colors I did . Little proportion of Red, pink and orange is put to match with Donatella ‘s style of creating colors, why I chose red? It’s because she hasn’t use them for years, and I guess she ‘ll use in the coming season and for pink and orange, they can be seen nearly in most years, in my view, they ‘ll be still in use.

The cutting of my collection are trying to act like Versace, slim, short / knee length, clean and direct, not as complicated as the feeling of John Galliano or other else.I ‘v e chosen low value analogic colors such as white, beige, brown, black, light brown, dark green, deep violet and other colors for example yellow, orange, pink, yellowish orange etc.I ‘ve also followed Donatella that love to use complementary colors, as all of us can see, Purple vs Yellow.

Best 32/150 collection

This 's one of the class accessment that I love best! A great try for me to use only 6 colors to create 150 outfits, after doing that, I 've learnt more about colors, I think I 'm even more creative in using colos than before, that's a good news for me, really.

I'm very interested in colors now.
